Theme: Italian Summer Cookout

Midwestern summer barbecues are the epitome of or regional food culture. From local sweet corn and garden-fresh produce to decadent “salads,” thick Iowa pork chops and sizzling steaks, it’s the most delicious time of the year.

For Restaurant Week 2023, Centro’s putting an Italian spin on the classic Midwestern backyard cookout. With dishes designed to highlight pristine summer produce, meats and seafood, we’re taking a cue from rustic Italian cuisine to let the Iowa summer bounty shine. Join us for a fresh taste of the midwest!


APPETIZERS (choose one):

Heirloom Tomato and Agnolotti Salad / marinated heirloom tomatoes, peaches, burrata-filled agnolotti, basil, chili-garlic vinaigrette

Marinated Watermelon Salad / marinated watermelon, whipped goat cheese, arugula, hot soppressata, lime vinaigrette

ENTRÉES (choose one):

Corn Mac / handmade orecchiette pasta, Iowa sweet corn, butter, pecorino, mascarpone, black pepper

Pork Belly “Chop” / tender grilled bone-in pork belly glazed with wildflower honey-mustard; with warm potato salad, green beans, pancetta dressing, blueberry agrodolce

Grilled Sea Bass / citrus-marinated striped bass, fresh summer vegetable caponata (Sungold tomato, zucchini, eggplant, sweet corn, capers, anchovy, basil), roasted zucchini purée, pine nuts

DESSERTS (choose one)

Sgroppino Ice Box Pie / frozen limoncello and Prosecco cream pie with amaretti cookie crust; with fresh blackberries

Peach and Blueberry Crumble / slow-cooked peaches and blueberries topped with Polenta crumble and sweet corn crème anglaise.
